About

Working and playing on Kaurna Land, Sarah Harding is a registered clinical counsellor, specialising in play therapy. She helps children and families explore emotions, build resilience, and strengthen connections in a developmentally sensitive, relationship-focused way.

She provides child-centred play therapy, family sessions, and supervision for registered play therapists. Sarah creates a safe, welcoming space where children can play, explore, and express themselves freely, and where families of all kinds, including those who identify as LGBTQI+, feel respected and supported. Mindful of her position as a white Australian, she is committed to ongoing learning and reflection to ensure her practice is inclusive and culturally aware.

Evidence-Based Practice

Sarah's work is grounded in approaches supported by research and recognised by the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA).

  • Child-Centred / Humanistic Play Therapy

    • Informed by Carl Rogers’ Person-Centred Theory, this approach places the child at the centre of therapy, supporting self-expression, autonomy, and emotional development.

  • Filial Therapy (Child-Parent Relationship Therapy – CPRT)

    • Developed by Dr. Garry Landreth

  • Theraplay-Informed Interventions

    • Structured, attachment-focused play approach

Sarah’s practice is guided by evidence-based principles, ethical standards, and ongoing professional development, ensuring interventions are safe, effective, and responsive to the needs of children and families.
